Is it possible to programmatically change the network adapter from inside the host or guest?

I am using vmware Player 6.

I use my laptop at home and at work.  My work is in a vmware image to keep it separate from my personal area (host).  From home, I connect to my work via vpn.

The problem is that at home, I have to be on NAT to connect to work.  At work, it wants to be on Bridged.

I was wondering if there was any way, from inside the guest or the host, to programatically change the network adapter for the guest.

I.e.  At a certain time of the day or when a specific network is detected, etc., a program would run to change the network adapter.

Thoughts?
