I P2V'd 2 DL380G1s to VMware ESX 3.5. They had 2 Pentium 866's with 2GB of memory. I P2V'd them to a Dell 6950 running 4 socket 2dual core AMD 8222SE 3ghz's.
This is a Windows 2000 SP4 server running NetWare eDirectory. During the P2V, I assigned 2 vCPUs because I didn't want to deal with changing the HAL and 2.5gb of memory (they are expecting future growth on this system)
These two VMs are now running at an average of 3GHZ, going up to 5GHZ which is astounding compared to the hardware it was running on. When I look at perfmon, CPU usage is on average at like 2-4%. Spiking to 50% at times.
Network, Memory, and Disk are all well within limits. Any ideas???
