Hello,
I am trying to get a combination of hardware foot pedal plus transcribing software running in a vm, but fail.
The scenario is as follows:
Host: Win7pro x64
Frameset: vmware player
Guest: Win7pro x64
Pedal Hardware: Infinity IN-USB-2 (PI Engineering VEC USB Footpedal)
Transcribing software: Philips SpeechExec Pro Transcribe
Installed on the physical layer, everything works fine, and the pedal is recognised by the configuration assistant of the software, but in the virtual layer, the pedal is installed and recognised by other software, i.e. Express Scribe, but not by the Philips software.
The pedal is correctly named in the devices list of the vm, but looking at the hardware manager, I do find differences between the physical and virtual layer:
(I apologize for the German identifiers. I try to translate but are not absolutely sure about the original english windows expressions...)
Physical:
Physical layer | virtual layer |
---|---|
Device Description: HID-conform user control device | ![]() |
Hardware IDs | ![]() |
Device Class GUID | ![]() |
Is there prpbably a way to modify the values of USB filters or the like, transported into the vm?
Any ideas are highly appreciated
