setting up alert paging in VMs

I have an application called NetpagerPro that was installed on a server 2003 box.   We want to install it on a Windows 2008R2 box.

NetPagerPro uses SNPP protocol to send monitoring alerts from our Orion NPM application to our company pager.    The question is:   will NetpagerPro work in a Windows 2008R2 VM.   if so, how would I set it up?
