In the vSphere client one of the default options for a VMguest is to "convert to a template".
I use this a lot -- I have a couple of templates, every few weeks/months I convert them to a VM + update whatever is needed + convert back to template.
The conversions back and forth are almost instantaneous.
With the web client I can convert an existing template to become a VM, but I cannot find the "convert to a template" option.
This means that if I want to update a template, I am left with a lengthy process to 'clone to template', and additionally my original VM is left behind, requiring me to delete it to clean up the template-folder.
Is this option just not added, or am I missing something obvious?
If it is indeed not available, does anyone know why it has been left out in the first place?
