Hello,
we have an environment with ~30 esxi hosts 2 vcsa running on vsphere 6.0 U2. Storage DRS is enabled. We have some backup jobs configured to only backup the 1st HDD of the vm's.
Now we noticed that on some vm's the order of the attached HDD's is changing randomly - causing the backup job to backup the wrong HDD.
f.e.:
Installed a vm with 2 HDD's (LSI Logic SAS). If you go to edit settings of the vm you can see:
Hard Disk 1: 60 GB (SCSI (0:0) Hard Disk 1
Hard Disk 2: 30 GB (SCSI (0:1) Hard Disk 2
After a week the order changed:
Hard Disk 1: 30 GB (SCSI (0:1) Hard Disk 1
Hard Disk 2: 60 GB (SCSI (0:0) Hard Disk 2
What can be the reason for this ? Can this be a problem of Storage DRS ?
