VMWorkstation 12.5.5 build-5234757

After upgrading to 12.5.5 build-5234757 I am no longer able to bridge to my local ethernet interface. If I do not update the vmtools on the guest then bridging continues to function. Looking at the virtual network editor it appears to not see eth0, eventhough that is the interface I am using to write this post. Not sure if this is normal as I have never had a need to look at it before. If I do not upgrade the vmtools to version 10.1.6 build-5214329 bridging continues to function.
